Over 75 community members gathered on October 12th to discuss Land Use Planning on the Waccamaw Neck. A number of common themes have emerged from conversation(s) which are summarized in the report generated by our consultants, Dover and Kohl and Associates. In the coming weeks, a visual representation will be generated to suggest the impact(s) of these ideas. This meeting was to further the community dialogue – none of these acts were formal land use planning, let alone regulation writing. Any formal results would be generated through the revision of the Comprehensive Plan which the County is embarking on next year. There will certainly be public meetings associated with that process and continued participation will be vital to achieving a valuable result.
This event is hosted by the Promoting Natural Resources and Land Use Planning Task Forces.
